PM HUN Manet to Participate in the Fourth Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leaders' Meeting via video conference

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, HUN Manet, will participate in the Fourth Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Leaders Meeting to be held via videoconference on 25 December 2023 at the invitation of co-chairs Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang.

The meeting under the theme "Join Hands on the Building of a Community of Shared Future and Modernization among Mekong-Lancang Countries", the Leaders will review overall progress and chart future directions for widening cooperation, promote mutual trust and strengthen partnerships under the MLC framework, contributing to socio-economic development and enhancing the well-being of the peoples of the sub-region. Three documents are expected to be adopted, namely: (1) the Nay Pyi Taw Declaration; (2) the Five-Year Plan of Action on MLC (2023-2027); (3) the Joint Initiative on the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Innovation Corridor Development.

According to ministry of foreign affairs: "The Fourth MLC Leaders' Meeting will be a milestone for the Mekong-Lancang countries to realize their common goals of promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the sub-region and advance MLC Cooperation to a higher level, through the launching of the implementation of the Five-Year Plan of Action".
